Privilege as a Barrier to Being a Welcoming Space

Almost everyone enjoys some aspects of privilege, or unearned advantage. Whether it’s physical or mental health, education, language, wealth, social support, and/or alignment to the dominant cultures, most of us have things that make our lives easier. And some of us have many areas where they are not. Understanding our advantages, and our attitudes and behaviours towards others based on these advantages, are necessary steps in creating inclusive and welcoming spaces. Guy will share a very personal perspective on privilege and his journey to understanding and growth as a person and a UU.
