It doesn’t matter whether your aim is to make a short announcement before service, share your ideas at a meeting or deliver a talk that changes the world. You’ll find virtually any speaking opportunity easier to prepare for with the tips, tools, tactics and templates you’ll learn during this interactive session. 

Your instructor will be Wendy Cherwinski, a UUFO member who is also a speechwriter, speech coach and trainer. Drawing on her deep experience, she’ll provide instruction and lead the group through discussions and exercises designed to help you: 

• Plan what you’re going to say;
• Customize your material to the audience;
• Create a compelling main point;
• Organize your ideas for best effect; 
• Use simple, concrete, visual language;
• Make the story behind statistics stand out; and
• Leave people with a memorable thought or strong call to action.

During the session you’ll also learn delivery skills, such as how to:

• Handle a microphone, 
• Get your listeners’ complete attention before you deliver your most critical message; and 
• Maintain eye contact with the audience even if you’re reading from a script. 

You’ll also take away a handout filled with templates, checklists and how to articles that will serve as a long-term reference.
