Tending Our Roots

In times like these, with so much destabilized and uncertain, it is more important than ever to cultivate our connection to that which keeps us grounded. The image of roots, which anchor into the earth and draw up needed nutrients, is a perfect metaphor. What are the values and stories that keep us centered, and what nourishes our spirits? Some roots are ancient, inherited from long lines of ancestors, while others may be newly sprouted and vital. The important thing is that we don’t take them for granted, but learn to tend to our roots as they tend to us.
