Worship Service: Honouring Maternal Figures on Mother’s Day
Honouring Maternal Figures on Mother’s Day
There is an African saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”. Our relationships with our mothers, or as mothers with our children is not always the Hallmark Card version. On this Mothers’ Day service, we celebrate and thank those special women in our lives who have been our “Other Mothers” – the grandmothers, elders, neighbours, friends, aunties and even older sisters and cousins who have helped to nurture, love and support us and, in many cases have also helped to nurture, love and support our mothers as well. Evangeline Danseco will be sharing the story of one such “Other Mother”, her beloved “Aunt Henry”.
Speaker: Evangeline Danseco
Service Leader: Hoppy Roy
