SAC Coffee House

November 21 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

We want to know more about the Indian Act. Do you?

If so, join us in viewing a couple of brief videos, followed by discussion, with a view to deepening our understanding of this most important legislation. First passed by the Parliament of Canada in 1876 and still in force with amendments, the Indian Act is the primary document which defines how the Government of Canada interacts with the First Nation bands and their members. What to do about the Indian Act is an important issue in reconciliation and will be the subject of a second “Coffee House” after Christmas. But first we’ll look at what’s in place today.

Dessert, tea and coffee. All are welcome

A sign up sheet on Sunday will help us plan for numbers.
